Alphabet Soup Minuscule

J.C. Scheff

Dust Never Settles

You came into this home,

A one night stand in a windowless room.
Somewhere this dust never settles,
But instead floats loosely, like cherry blossoms with velvet skin.

I cup my hands around you,
Knowing I can never keep you.
Instead, I bring you to these lips and
I inhale calmly, then blow.

Watching you.

To ANOTHER windowless room.
To ANOTHER  one night stand.
Away from MY cherry blossom heart.
