Dress for Spring

I wish I were a tree.

So, that I could be harder.
Not some tree on a corner.
But a tree, planted in a place you
Wouldn’t normally expect to see one.
Where you frequent every day.
So, you can watch me slowly die before the winter and
Wonder if I will come back in the spring.

  1. Love the gentle build up, then the punch in the gut followed the piercing wistfulness

  2. I can’t improve on BLB’s comment. Or yours. I’ll just watch, I guess.
