Alphabet Soup Minuscule

J.C. Scheff

80’s Carbon print

Chapped lips like a piece of crumpled composition paper,
Pressed against filmy glass,
Fogged over, scratched like an old album.

Excess breath abandons 80’s carbon print.
Blackened vowels on a fingertip.
And the number 6.

Faded conversations like a peeled label
Dampened by a light mist.
The L now missing.
tucked away, in the crease of a lip.

Knotted hair,
Coerced smile-
Pen without ink
A mind now silent.
